Christopher Braccia, national security and critical infrastructure researcher

Christopher Braccia is a National Security & Cybersecurity Fellow, cyber threat intelligence researcher, and international speaker whose work examines nation-state operations, critical infrastructure security, strategic competition, cyber policy, emerging technology, and the evolving intersection of cybersecurity and national security.

He is the creator and maintainer of The Observatory, an independent cross-sector cyber threat intelligence platform tracking thousands of cyber incidents and grey-zone events across all 16 U.S. critical infrastructure sectors, Space Systems, and hundreds of global subsea cable systems.

Braccia’s research spans state-sponsored cyber operations, critical infrastructure and telecommunications security, subsea cables, supply chain security, cyber-enabled coercion, attribution, resilience, emerging technology, and Indo-Pacific security, including extensive analysis of campaigns such as Volt Typhoon and Salt Typhoon.

His independent research has received international recognition and has been cited, published, or highlighted by the UK National Cyber Security Centre’s Office of the CTO, The Diplomat, RealClearDefense, the ISEAS–Yusof Ishak Institute, the Australian Centre for International Studies, Indian Strategic Studies, and the U.S. Naval Cryptologic Veterans Association.

Braccia has presented his research in the United States, Asia, and Europe, bringing cross-sector cyber threat intelligence and national security analysis to international audiences.

Beyond his national-security work, Braccia is a Co-Founder of the Greene County Food Security Coalition, a community organization working to address food insecurity in upstate New York.
